NHLA is gathering information from NH House Rep candidates and will be announcing our endorsements in early August. For other races, check the independent NH Candidates website.
The NHLA encourages everyone to be good neighbors and help out those in need by volunteering in our communities. There are many organizations that would love to put you to work!
Look for a local soup kitchen, food bank, humane society, Headstarts center, Special Olympics, etc.
There are many civic organizations you can join to work with others on group projects. Most towns and cities have one or more such groups. Lions, Rotary, Kiwanis, etc. Have fun!
In 2007, the NHLA provided matching funds to help Kim Hermonat, of Sanbornville, NH, and her eight small children. Kim lost her husband Bill in March 2007 to an aneurysm. Kim's most immediate need is money to pay medical, funeral, and other ongoing bills.
More information is here and in this story in Foster's.
Through the kind donations of $100 by several of our members, and a $100 match from Civic Action, we were able to send $200 to the family of a Troy man who suffered severe burns in a propane explosion.
Hear of another situation where some voluntary, non-governmental funds could help our fellow neighbors? Send the details to civic@nhliberty.org
